Swimming Lessons

Open Water Certification - This is where you learn the basic concepts, equipment uses, and limitations of each dive. Students are required to pass a swim test and provide their own mask, fins, snorkel and/or booties.

Advanced Adventure Diver - AOW is there for the diver who wants to go deeper, dive longer, and check out more stuff. It requires 5 dives, three are your choice, one navigation dive, and one deep dive greater than 70’. Most dive charters require AOW to go to deeper wrecks.

Computer Nitrox Diver - Nitrox diving is the use of oxygen enriched air that increases a divers bottom time at different depths. Divers must be trained in a classroom and pass a written exam. Classes are 2-3 hours and there are no dives required for this specialty.

Wreck Diver - Wreck diving is the pride of Atlantic Diving. NC & VA are in an area known as the Graveyard of the Atlantic. Wreck Diver classes teach you how to safely navigate the wrecks of this area using the line reels, dive lights, and compasses.

Advanced Buoyancy Control - Here we concentrate on getting the excess weight off of your rig and learning how to use body position, proper breathing techniques, and weight placement to keep the ocean and yourself safer and have a more enjoyable dive.

Rescue Diver - In this class you will earn advanced safety procedures and rescue techniques used by dive professionals around the world. Requirements for  this class include a sim assessment, classroom and pool work, and open water dives with rescue scenarios.

First Aid/CPR/AED (Automated External Defibrillator)

Dive Master Prep - This is the first level of professional diving and the beginning of a life long career in the waters around your area. Once this course is completed, divers will be capable of leading other certified divers on excursions around the world. And PADI Certified Divemasters are recognized world wide.

For students that are 18 years of age and older, they may continue on to take their Divemaster exam.
